THE ABILITY OF THE SIXTH SEMESTER STUDENTS OF THE ENGLISH EDUCATION DEPARTMENT IN TRRANSLATING CONDITIONAL SENTENCES AT STAIN PALANGKA RAYA

The principle purposes of this study are to describe some cases on the problems of students in Translating of Conditional sentences faced by the sixth semester students of the English Education Department at STAIN Palangka Raya. The problem of the study were (1) how is the ability of the sixth semester students of STAIN Palangka Raya in translating conditional sentence type1, type 2, and type 3 from English into Indonesian ? (2) how is the ability of the sixth semester students of STAIN Palangka Raya in translating conditional sentence from Indonesian into English ? The Approach of the study was quantitative one. The type of the study was descriptive study. The instruments used to collect data were test, and documentation. The sample of the study consisted of 30 students.
Based on the research finding, In term of the ability of the sixth semester students in Translating of conditional sentences type 1 from English to Indonesian is shown by the avarage score 92.11. In term of the ability of the sixth semester students in Translating of conditional sentences type 2 from English to Indonesian is shown by the avarage score 87.89. In term of the ability of the sixth semester students in Translating of conditional sentences type 3 from English to Indonesian is shown by the avarage score 80.78. In term of the ability of the sixth semester students in Translating of conditional sentences from Indonesian into English is shown by the avarage (75.78), (75.14), (63.33). The score are classified as good, good, and fair qualification.
